Children and Family Service

Hong Kong has entered into a challenging era, facing tremendous changes in political, economical and social aspect. Taking the lead to respond to the social needs of the community, Hong Kong Society of the Protection of Children moves with a new initiative to establich the Children and Family Services Centre in March 2003. It is our intent to enhance, strengthen and stabilize family life as well as to promote the well being of children and family.
Objectives
to enhance, strengthen and stabilize family tie in the community
to establish supportive network within the community
to promote volunteerism in the community
to co-operate with other organizations
to increase the self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem of the service users
 
Service Target
Children age 12 or below and their family members
 
Service focus
our service emphasizes on preventive work as well as provides counseling and crisis support to those needy families. We try to establish a supportive network within the community and try to prevent problems before they arise or worsen
we also out-reach the vulnerable or deprived group, such as single-parent family. new immigrant families, low income group or minority group for early identification of problems and to build up an inclusive learning environment for all
we flexibly provide services to meet the needs of the community
 
Service mode
short term counseling, referral and advisory services
play / toy / computer /reading corners
building supporting and mutual help network groups
organize groups and program in meeting the needs of children and parents
community education or at-risk family identification through out-reaching or mobile aid counter
volunteerism development
develop partnerships with NGOs, SWD or other units on project basis
 
Membership
Membership charge for the whole family per annual $50 (from 1 April till 31 March of next year)
Half annual fee $25 for membership applying starting from 1 Oct
CSSA recipients can apply for waive of membership fee with supporting document
 
Operation Hours
Tuesday - Friday 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
 
  • centre close on every Monday and public holiday
 
  • 1:00 - 2:00 pm and 6:00 - 7:00 pm is the meal time for staff, centre services will be suspended
