Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children SIA Shaukiwan Day Creche

With effect from January 1, 2025, the eligibility of application for our day creche service will be changed from "Upon completing the registration form and five months prior to the expected date of childbirth “to the following: "Upon completing the registration form and holding a pregnancy certificate issued by a Hong Kong registered doctor." The documents can be submitted via email, post, or in-person.

Environment and Facilities

We are a standalone 2-storey building with an outdoor activity area.

We have a total of 5 classrooms, each accommodating 12 to 14 babies. Infants and toddlers are allocated to the classrooms depending on their age. Learning environments are adjusted regularly according to babies’ needs and developmental stages.

Our Day Crèche is a suitable environment to shape the trajectory of children’s holistic development and build a foundation for their future. Children’s learning and curiosity will be encouraged through exploration, interaction, experiences and activities in our indoor and outdoor areas.

Nurturing Children

Children at our nursery learn self-care through daily life activities. This not only helps cultivate their sense of responsibility but also, through the hands-on process, develops their concentration, hand-eye coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.

We believe that "helping a child to do it themselves" is more important than "doing it for the child." When children can independently manage their daily needs without constant reliance on others, it helps them build self-confidence and adapt to community life.

We focus on cultivating children's life skills, allowing them to start with "caring for oneself," then expanding to "caring for the environment," and "caring for others."

Parent Support

As a child's first early childhood education school, our mission extends beyond simply nurturing and caring for infants. Our greater mission is to support families in fulfilling their roles, partnering with parents to nurture their children, and journeying with them as they discover their wonderful selves.

Through various parent-child activities and games, we promote the emotional bond and enhance interaction between parents and children. This helps children establish a secure attachment, leading to an improved parent-child relationship.

In addition to maintaining strong home-school collaboration, we also arrange various workshops for parents. These workshops not only provide parenting information and resources but also offer parents a chance to reflect on their own family dynamics and rediscover the joy of childhood play.

Service Fees

HK$5,558 per month (The fee includes formula milk provided by the center).

Fees are approved by the government and are subject to adjustment in September of each year. Families in need can apply to the government for the "Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Fee Remission Scheme." The amount of remission is determined by the family's financial situation, with the maximum remission potentially covering the full fee.

Eligible families may also apply to the Social Welfare Department for the "Child Care Centre Parent Subsidy" (HK$1,000 per month), for which is non-means-tested.
