Our service units hold outing activities regularly for our children to broaden their horizons and enjoy quality family time.
The Indian family of four has been living in Hong Kong for almost 6 years. When they were first settling here, the real challenge was establishing neighbourhood relationships and integrating into the community.
Sharing happiness with other people is easy, but sharing hardship is difficult. We treasure it when parents put their trust in us, despite we have not experienced their pain and may not truly understand their feeling.
We strongly believe that play is not only a right for children, but also the bridge for interaction and communication between themselves and the outside world, helping them to be aware of and express their emotions.
When Shan Shan (nickname) entered the playroom, she started to use the toys to poke my leg and then placed them onto my arm. She stared at me and smiled without saying a word. Most adults might see these behaviors as challenging their bottom line or drawing attention.
Since early 2020, Hong Kong has been severely affected by the COVID-19. Children and parents are facing challenges in their daily life and family income. Therefore, we have actively provided timely support to meet the demands of children and families during this tumultuous time.
The economic situation of many grassroots families has been greatly affected since the outbreak of the pandemic, and their lives made harder, due to the soaring prices of protective equipment and daily food supplies.
Some deprived families may be unable to cook a proper meal or enjoy a meal together, so our Children and Family Services Centre in Sham Mong Districts established a community kitchen where families can cook and eat together.
HKSPC launched the “Community Kitchen” programme to provide a comfortable and well-equipped cooking environment for low-income families, with an aim to promote community and family harmony through cookery.
