A parent talk themed around children's trauma and recovery was held on December 16, 2025. We were honoured to have Prof. Yip Kam-shing, Adjunct Professor at Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences of Saint Francis University, as our guest speaker. The talk was conducted in a hybrid format, supporting both online and in-person participation. Over 200 parents and child care workers attended the session.
Professor Yip shared insights into how children respond both physically and emotionally when faced with trauma. He also offered shared practical guidance for parents, carers, social workers, and educators on how to walk alongside children, helping them untangle complex feelings and give voice to the pain that little ones often struggle to express. With love and care, we can gently embrace every child and support their healing journey.
We want to remind all caregivers not to neglect their own well‑being. Supporting children can feel heavy at times, and it is essential to recognise your own emotions and stress. Reach out for support if you ever feel burdened. It is a sign of strength, and allowing yourself to be cared for is just as important as caring for others.
